Diogo Farinha decisive in Mafra's draw against leader Casa Pia

DIOGO FARINHA, PLAYERS OF FUTURE defender, was in great evidence in the draw (1-1) achieved by Mafra against Casa Pia in a game counting for the 7th round of the Promotion Phase to the 1st National Junior Division A With this result achieved against the leader, the team from Mafra maintained third place, one point behind Tondela and three behind the Geese at a time when there are three matches left to play.

- Did the draw against Casa Pia have any special meaning?

- Well, overall, the team's performance was very good and gave a positive response to the negative results of the last few rounds. Individually? I had a good performance, focused and aggressive defensively and with good ball circulation and I was lucky enough to manage, towards the end of the game, to score the goal that guaranteed us at least a point. However, I think the team did much more to deserve the three points in this match against Casa Pia.

- It was his first goal of the season. How did it happen?

- It was following a ball cleared by the opposing defense, a colleague of mine managed to make a great cross to the second post where I attacked the ball with my head and managed to score the equalizer in the 79th minute. It was a tremendous joy!

- Is promotion to the 1st Division on your horizons?

- Yes, we have three finals ahead of us, it's up to us to achieve this goal we've set. In these three finals we will have to be a very intense and concentrated team, as in most games this season, leave this less good phase behind and achieve victory in the next match against Quarteirense. Our team has great unity and a spirit of mutual help, so I believe we will achieve our long-awaited goal.

- Does the team maintain high motivational levels?

- Of course! We all want to reach the climb, all members of the team, both players and staff, have worked all year to reach this moment and respond in the best way. With the possible climb on the horizon I don't think there is better motivation for the team, so yes the team is extremely motivated.

- Quarteiense follows…

- The next home game, counting for the eighth round, will certainly be a final. Our objective, like all other games, is to achieve victory. With the team focused and aggressive, I believe victory will come. We just depend on ourselves! It's great!

- Did this goal and performance against Casa Pia come at the right time?

- I believe that all heights are good for a good performance and a goal. However, given the little time I played previously, it had a very special flavor. In any case, the most important thing remains the team's victory and the next three finals.
