Diogo Farinha returns to competition after recovering from thigh injury

DIOGO FARINHA, PLAYERS OF FUTURE bet, returned to the pitch after two months out due to a thigh injury. The defender of Mafra's under-19 team is recovered and played half of the defeat (4-3) against Fátima, counting for the 17th round of Series D of the National Championship of the 2nd Junior Division .

- Happy with your return to competition?

- Yes of course! It was very important to return to the pitch, to gain some rhythm and confidence again after the injury. Physically I'm already well recovered and now the main thing is to continue working game by game and training after training until I reach the peak shape I was in before the injury.

- So are you fully recovered?

- Yes. Recovery from the injury ended up taking two months, thanks to all the support I had from the club and the effort I maintained in recovery ended up going as planned and the injury is now completely resolved.

- Was the defeat against Fátima a setback that you weren't expecting?

- It was an atypical game for our team. We made several defensive mistakes that we normally don't make and ended up being punished by the Fátima team. It wasn't my best game on this return to the pitch. Now the important thing is to raise our heads and respond in this last round with Nacional and end this phase with a victory at home.

- How do you foresee the challenge with Nacional?

- The next game will certainly be very complicated. Our team has an obligation to respond this weekend to the defeat in the last game in Fátima. The Nacional team comes to face us with only victory in mind, as they continue to compete for the other promotion spot in this series. For them it will be an all or nothing game. It will be a very combative game, with many duels and we have to get back to the shape we have been in the last 16 rounds, focused, aggressive and giving everything on the field.

- Participation in the Climb Phase is guaranteed. How far can Mafra reach?

- We managed to achieve the long-awaited goal of being in the climb phase, thanks to the hard work, week after week, of the entire group and the technical team. Now we're going to the second phase, taking it game by game, battle by battle, trying to do what we did in this phase to achieve the much-desired promotion to the division.
