GONÇALO BATISTA, PLAYERS OF FUTURE striker, ended the season with a flourish by scoring a goal, suffering a penalty foul and assisting one of the six goals with which Marinhense defeated Gouveia 6-3 in the last match of the Series C of the Portuguese Championship. GONÇALO BATISTA was substituted in the 73rd minute due to injury and at a time when the Marinha Grande team was winning 4-0. The team led by Nuno Kata failed to qualify for the promotion phase by one point, giving way to Lusitânia dos Açores.
- Do you feel it was your best performance for Marinhense?
- Well, we have to give everything in every game and be as focused as possible. There are games that go better than others, but, in fact, it was a game that went well for me and we can say that it was one of my best with the Marinhense shirt.
- Did failing to qualify for the climb phase by one point make you sad?
- Very much so! We did everything we could to get to the promotion stage, but that's just football. We have to keep our heads up and still think that we had an excellent season. Let no one doubt that Marinhense deserved to continue in the competition!
- What is your assessment of Marinhense's participation in the championship?
- It was a time with ups and downs. At first things were intermittent but always with the same focus, victory! We missed our goal by a hair's breadth... it's a shame!
- And on a personal level?
- Thank God I managed to finish the season in top shape. I just can't say it was excellent because we didn't go to the climbing phase. I did my job and I will always continue to do so! I take this opportunity to thank Marinhense for the way they were received. It's a club that deserves to be on another level.
- What will the next season be like?
- Well, now we have to wait for the next season to be able to give more and always improve. I believe I will still give a lot to football. I am growing and always learning.
