Gonçalo Batista: «The defeat in Sintra was very unfair»

GONÇALO BATISTA, PLAYERS OF FUTURE striker, was called up to the team led by José Mauro Santos for FC Serpa's visit to Sintrense in a match counting for the 12th round of Series D of the Portuguese Championship. The Alentejo team was winning with a goal from José Miranda but ended up losing, 2-1, in a match in which GONÇALO BATISTA suffered a foul that led the match referee to pull a yellow card to punish a player from Sintra.

• Did FC Serpa deserve another result?

• Yes, clearly. We started the game well on a heavy pitch that we are not used to. It was a well-played match for both teams, but, I repeat, we deserved another result, without a doubt. The defeat in Sintra was a very unfair result.

• How do you analyze your exhibition in Sintra?

• I entered the game when the pace was already quite high, as a rule a player always takes a while to get into the rhythm of the game but I believe I did it.

• He suffered a severe blow to his right foot. Recoverable for the next round's game?

• It was a move in which I tried to make a good individual play but that's just how football is, these situations happen. I hope to recover for the challenge with Barreirense.

• Despite the distance, the support of Serpa fans was felt. Do you agree?

• Without a doubt! The support of our fans is always very important. We have to thank all of them for their presence, who are always at the games and lifting the team up. In Sintra, support was felt considerably.

• Barreirense's visit is Serpa's next commitment. Difficulties in sight?

• Well, now we need to start thinking about the next game with Barreirense and leave this Sintra game behind. Let's work in the same way we have been working and give the answer on Sunday and emerge victorious, which is the most important thing!
