GUILHERME ROMA, PLAYERS OF FUTURE striker, was used during the 90 minutes in the match with Benfica. GUILHERME ROMA participated in a large part of the team's offensive initiatives and was always very involved in V. Setúbal's defensive maneuvers, as is, in fact, usual. In conversation with PLAYERS OF FUTURE, GUILHERME ROMA talks about the defeat against Benfica, at home, the moment of the National under-19 championship and also the visit to Lusitânia dos Açores scheduled for January 6th.
- Do you consider the defeat against Benfica to be unfair?
- It was a very intense game on both sides. Benfica is looking for three points, and from our side the objective would be the same. The team that was more objective in finishing won. As for the game played, it was well played by everyone, quite honestly the defeat was cruel for our work and performance, but this is all part of the game... Our group is very strong and with all certainty that each one of us grew a little more.
- Do you feel stronger and stronger?
- Yes No doubt. I played 90 minutes, from training to training and from game to game, I feel increasingly stronger and more available. «It was fantastic to play 90 minutes with Benfica»
- How do you evaluate your performance in the meeting?
- The secret to the answer involves focus and the desire to always want more... where commitment is essential for better performance. Since arriving at Vitória, I have set an individual and collective objective... I can say that until then, these same objectives fit into everything I have envisioned since my arrival. I'm very happy with myself and very happy with the great group I found.
- Is Benfica the best team you have faced this season?
- I don't know if it's the best team since it's premature to make that analysis. However, they are the leaders in the league table. Taking into account the quality in the South Group, being able to command the group is not easy... Naturally, Benfica is one of the strong candidates trying to win this competition.
- Does V. Setúbal being far from joining the group that gives access to qualifying as champion take away his motivation?
- No way. Being able to work wearing this shirt is synonymous with responsibility, respect and a lot of pride.
Regardless of our classification, motivation is everything I work on daily. Our position does not match our serious commitment to Vitória. We want to prove on the field that we are better... because we are!
- Next game is the visit to Lusitânia on January 6th, at 3 pm. The objective is to win three points?
- Naturally yes. We are going to the Azores to face a rival that has proven its strength in the competition. It is up to us to be rigorous, competent and serious in our approach to the game. I'm sure that the group we have gives us guarantees to play a positive game and bring the three points to Setúbal.
Whatever the rival... here we are Vitória and the only thought is... winning!...
