João Santos leads Casa Pia to a historic place in the under-17 National Championship

Casa Pia is for the first time in its history in the under-17 champion qualifying phase. JOÃO SANTOS, PLAYERS OF FUTURE coach, is mainly responsible for the feat, after the geese won 3-0 against Sacavenense, driving the team's dozens of fans crazy. The geese have had a fantastic campaign in the competition and with two rounds to go before the end of the first phase they are guaranteed to be in the most important phase of the competition, behind Sporting and Benfica.

- What does this qualification mean for the final phase of the under-17 National Championship?

- This qualification ends up having a very special flavor, due to the fact that we have entered the club's history. For the first time, a Casa Pia team enters the championship phase in the 1st Division. All this was done with a practically new team, with players coming from lower leagues. There was a great individual evolution in practically all the players, meaning that we ended up achieving the sporting objective and the evolution of the players. I'm very happy for us and the players!

- What analysis does the game against Sacavenense deserve?

- Game in Sacavém was well played and unblocked by details. I think we had control of the entire game and knew how to take advantage of the opportunities created. We knew we had to win to qualify for the next stage and we did that. We were the best team on the field!

- Benfica is coming to visit. Does guaranteed qualification allow you to approach the game with more peace of mind?

- Yes, in fact, the game with Benfica ends up being seen in a calmer way, but we will never stop wanting more... We will try to win the game to guarantee third place and we will prepare for the finals games, with this kind of complexity and difficulty. Let's enjoy the game but with competence.

- Did you expect to qualify just behind Sporting and Benfica?

- We knew we were putting together a strong and competent team, but we didn't expect so much. As the championship progressed, we began to realize that we could make history, and we did, now we want to maintain third place.

- How far can Casa Pia go?

- Well, now we'll go as far as they let us... We know we have less resources, but we have a lot of soul and desire and that wins games!

- How do you see the support given to the team?

- Parents, family members, supporters and members of Casa Pia showed and have shown their strength in every game and in Sacavém they were once again fantastic... It was great to see the support they gave to the team, leading the team to always be motivated . This is only possible with victories and a united family. Together we are much stronger!
