JOÃO SANTOS, PLAYERS OF FUTURE coach, led Casa Pia to a draw (2-2) in their visit to the always difficult Vitória SC in a match counting for the third round of the champion qualification phase of the national under-17 championship.
In conversation with PLAYERS OF FUTURE, JOÃO SANTOS has no doubt in highlighting the fact that his team was the best on the field, that the team is motivated and that the next game with Rio Ave is a win-win one.
- Is this draw in Guimarães fair or did I just know about it?
- Clearly unfair and it was too little, our fault in the decisions and the finalization. The environment on the stand was also not easy and led to some mistakes by the referee, which had an influence on the result.
- Was it Casa Pia's best performance at this stage?
- Yes, great performance from the team, the best without a doubt, despite having played excellent games in the previous ones.
- Is there still time to reach the top?
- It is very complicated. We know the differences, even though we managed to balance the games. We are the “little guys” in the championship and in some situations it is very noticeable in the decisions we have seen that make all the difference and have unlocked the games.
- Is the team more motivated?
- The team is motivated, they know what they have achieved this season, but they want to leave an excellent image at this stage and they have achieved it.
- Leo Fajardo continues to earn money. How far can you go?
- Fajardo managed to win, and he could have done more, in addition to winning he played the best game of the season, on a tactical level he did very well, as did the whole team.
- The visit to Rio Ave will follow. Any complications in sight?
- Another complicated game, in which we will fight for victory, as we have always done. Rio Ave have a team with their strengths that we will analyze and prepare in the best way to cancel and produce another excellent performance, always with the same thought, to dignify Casa Pia.
