Vitória FC, coached by José Pedro, drew (1-1) against Juventude de Évora and maintained the lead in Series D of the Portuguese Championship ahead of Moncarapachense. Despite having given up two points in a match where the team never lacked support, the Sadinos maintained their positive streak of results: seven wins and two draws in the last nine rounds.
- How do you analyze the visit to the house of your colleague and friend Pedro Russiano?
- It was a difficult game against an opponent with very specific characteristics. We started the game well, not only with the goal scored by Daniel Carvalho after just nine minutes, but also with the dominance and control of the first half. In the second 45 minutes, we lost the ball too much and had some duels, which allowed the opponent to get closer to our defensive midfield and which naturally greatly affected our performance. I think that based on what happened on the field, the draw is acceptable.
- What consequences could a draw have for the team?
- It's simple: The reflections are those of a point gained on our journey, looking at what was done in the game and working on what was good and not so good we did.
- Does the break in the Portuguese Championship come at a good time?
- Well, the stop comes at the time that has long been stipulated. Neither this nor any other situation will change anything about our preparation and team growth.
- Would you change any point in the way you prepared the team for Évora?
- I would not change a thing! The preparation for this game was precisely in line with what happened in the match. I think we just weren't at the level we've been presenting in recent games and that's why we ended up playing a less successful game.
- Is the climb still on the horizon?
- I don't see why I should think differently. This draw in Évora doesn't take our focus off the climb. We continue with this objective clearly defined.
