- How do you analyze the challenge with Barreirense?
- It was a fair victory! From the opening whistle we dominated the game with the ball, we also managed to control it without the ball, ending up scoring the first goal in the 37th minute, but up until this point we had created countless opportunities. We were very objective and pragmatic and the final result ended up adjusting to what happened on the field. Our first half dictated a lot of what the final result was.
- V. Setúbal has the most successful attack in the Portuguese Championship with 19 goals. What is the secret to successful team productivity?
- Well, it's due to a number of situations, from the individual quality of the players, to the way we look at training and the game and also to the demands we have for this sporting season, both at club and personal level. Naturally, I am a coach who looks at games and prepares them in a way that ‘plays to win’. Then it has been combining these factors that have led to this good productivity of goals scored so far.
- Does the start of the season open up good prospects for the rest of the season?
- It's been an excellent start to the season, without a doubt, and we want to maintain that record. To do this we have to continue to be a consistent team, looking at each game with the aim of winning it, knowing that we have a long way to go and that the greatness of this club also demands that of us.
- In addition to the position he holds, he played for Vitória for four seasons. He is, therefore, knowledgeable about club life. History has taught us the strong importance of fans in the life of V. Setúbal. Does this support make sense?
- Very very much! Vitória fans have been fantastic. Your support is of paramount importance to our success, if they did everything would be much more difficult. I knew they would say gift. They are essential to the club's success. Based on what we have shown on the field, I think our fans are satisfied with the team and that also ends up being very important for all of us.
